Wooden Coin Bank "Schneckchen"

"Schneckchen" is a hand driven wooden coin bank, where a snail is coming out of her house and takes the money. A coin bank from the seventies inspired me. A worm came out of an apple and took the money. I liked the idea, but I found the implementation not so great. Therefore I have built my own version.

Operating Principle

The snail is driven by hand. Four turns of the crank result in a cycle. A linkage controls the path of the snail. This project is well suited for beginners. The coin bank is not intended for young children because they can swallow small parts.

Woodworking Plans

The plans include detailed assembly drawings, a step by step guide, a materials list and drawings of all parts in original size.

The plans are completely in English and German. Dimensions are indicated in metric (mm).

Owners of a CNC machine can get the dxf file free-of-charge from me, after the purchase of the plans.
